cap/no cap

“Cap” = a lie “No cap” = telling the truth / being for real So if someone says “no cap”, they mean “I’m not lying” or “seriously.” If they say “that’s cap”, they mean “you’re lying.” “That movie was the best thing I’ve ever seen, no cap.” → I’m being totally honest — it was amazing. “He said he could dunk, but that’s cap.” → He’s lying. No way he can actually dunk.
